Maintenance Technician

Summary:
Performs skilled work to maintain and repair machines, equipment, and facility structures. Responsibilities include installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Uses blueprints, schematics, and diagnostic tools to ensure efficient plant operations and support various maintenance projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment, including conveyors, pumps, motors, and electrical systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Fabricate, install, and align parts using hand and power tools.
• Conduct basic welding, plumbing, and carpentry as needed for facility upkeep.
• Replace or repair faulty electrical components such as relays, switches, motors, and PLCs.
• Document all maintenance and repair activities.
• Perform emergency repairs and support equipment installations or upgrades.
• Follow safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout and PPE requirements.

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Skilled in troubleshooting, using diagnostic equipment, and performing precision repairs.
• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and Cal/OSHA standards.

Education & Training:

• Background in industrial maintenance or equivalent experience.
• Electrical and mechanical safety training required; forklift certification preferred.
• HAZWOPER training provided upon hire.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.
• Use of respirator and other PPE as required.

Work Environment:

• Exposure to moving machinery, noise, and occasional outdoor or elevated work.
