Staff Source is seeking a skilled and reliable TIG Welder to join our team at a manufacturing facility located in Sterling heights. This Company is an industry leader in the custom fabrication and finishing of sheet metal products. Industries service include; Commercial electronics, automotive, medical and military. This is a Temp to hire, hands-on position requiring precision, accountability, and the ability to work independently. Applicants must have their own welding gear and tools. A welding test will be administered prior to hire.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Occasional Overtime Required)
Pay Range: $20.00 – $33.00/hour (Based on Experience and Skill Level)

TIG Welder Key Responsibilities:

· TIG welding and fitting of steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components.

· Interpreting blueprints

· Fitting, welding, and finishing custom parts to tight tolerances.

· Inspecting completed parts for quality, accuracy, and completeness.

· Collaborating with team members to ensure project deadlines are met.

· Maintaining tools necessary for fabricating a variety of part types.

Skills needed for TIG Welder:

· Expertise in TIG welding

· Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.

· Materials: Proficiency in working with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

Responsibilities:

• Perform high-quality TIG welding on a variety of materials in accordance with AWS standards
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding specifications
• Inspect and verify completed welds for structural integrity and conformance
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Welding steel and aluminum 1/8" thickness and below
• Work efficiently under minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines

Requirements:

• Proficiency in TIG welding techniques
• Ability to pass a TIG welding test prior to hire
• Must provide own PPE
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and pass a background check for DOD clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with DOD or military-grade welding projects (a plus, but not required)
• Additional welding certifications or qualifications
