Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Phlebotomist with specialized experience in drawing blood from geriatric and pediatric patients. The ideal candidate will perform blood collection procedures efficiently and compassionately, ensuring patient comfort and adherence to safety protocols. This role requires flexibility in working hours to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages, with emphasis on geriatric and pediatric populations.
• Ensure proper identification and labeling of specimens to maintain accuracy.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following infection control and safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients to reduce anxiety and explain procedures clearly.
• Document procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with scheduling and coverage during extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure timely specimen processing and delivery.

Required Qualification s

• Proven experience in phlebotomy, specifically with geriatric and pediatric patients.
• Excellent venipuncture skills and patient care abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Phlebotomy (CPT, PBT, or equivalent).
• Experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Certifications

• Phlebotomy Certification (CPT, PBT, or equivalent) – preferred but may be required based on employer.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (if required).
