Job Description

Job Summary

The Human Resources Assistant provides support to the HR Director and team across a variety of functions. This role is responsible for assisting with payroll, maintaining employee records, preparing onboarding and separation paperwork, and ensuring compliance with HR processes and documentation requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain hourly staff timecards, correct errors, and generate reports
  • Assist with semi-monthly payroll processing and reporting
  • Update the company intranet with HR content as needed
  • Prepare new hire and separation paperwork, including checklists
  • Maintain employee files and records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Track benefits enrollment, acknowledgments, and HR-related forms
  • Support scheduling for legal assistant rotations
  • Provide general HR administrative support as assigned
  • Ensure reliable and consistent attendance (both in-office and remote as required)
Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or college degree required
  • 12 years of experience in a professional office environment (law firm or professional services preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and proofreading ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve, and work independently
  • Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with diverse personalities
Schedule

Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week; in-office TuesdayThursday)
