We are seeking Greenskeepers at both the River Course and Cassique Golf Courses to be ambassadors for our mission: TO BE THE FINEST PRIVATE CLUB IN THE WORLD. Exclusively serving members of the Kiawah Island Club, Tom Fazio's River Course and Tom Watson's Cassique are world-class 18-hole golf courses on the banks of the Kiawah River and overlooking miles of pristine marshland.

Responsibilities

Greenskeepers are responsible for maintaining the grass, turf, grounds, and plants, at the courses using standard manual and power lawn care equipment. Duties include, but are not limited to: mowing and weeding grass, laying sod, planting grass and other types of plants, and fertilizing. Some experience using lawnmowers, leaf blowers, edgers, and trimmers is preferred, but not required. The schedule for this position is 6-7 days per week as follows:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday: 6:00 am to 3:00 pm (occasionally until 5pm)
Saturday & Sunday: 6:00 am to 10:00 am

Qualifications

• The ability to lift and carry at least 30 lbs, and to sit, stand, kneel and walk for long periods, is required
• Qualified applicants will be comfortable working outdoors for long periods in varied weather conditions
• Applicants must be comfortable with the regular use of hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and brush trimmers, and axes
• Some previous experience as a landscaper or horticulturalist is strongly preferred, but not required
• Experience operating powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, leaf blowers, chain-saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws is preferred
