Academy Bus is seeking an experienced Class B Diesel Bus Mechanic for our Richmond, VA location. Must have experience working on Van Hool, Temsa, and Prevost Buses. Familiar with Cummins and Detroit engines. Must have own tools. $2500 Sign-On Bonus. Pay - $28.00 - $33.00 per hour. Pay rate based on candidate experience level. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include nights and weekends. Repair, troubleshooting and diagnosis of modern tour buses Reconditioning, preventative and routine maintenance Inspections and road tests Warranty and repair documentation Diagnosis, inspection, installation, disassembly and cleaning of components such as: brakes, suspension, tires, bearings, seals, radiators, water pumps, coolant hoses, alternators, regulators, steering components, oil/air filters, door assemblies, controls, seats, belts, electric motors, pneumatic valves, cables, and linkages. Respond to road calls Basic welding/fabrication Assist Level Mechanics with skilled work and train/supervise C Level Mechanics Proven ability to use hand tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, welding equipment, and testing instruments Valid driver's license Basic computer skills CDL License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsement is a plus but not required; willingness to obtain a CDL License is also desirable.
