What you’ll do As part of XTG (Experience Technology Group), Technologists provide creative AV designs to enable experiential storytelling. This customer-facing, senior design role supports business development, leads pre-sales creative engineering and provides ongoing post-sales project support. The Technologist should be skilled in technology consulting for both internal sales and customers, providing leadership in planning and budgeting. Responsibilities include creating system descriptions, block flow diagrams, estimating hours, highlighting logistical challenges for pricing, and preparing equipment lists for customer proposals. Lead Creative Technology & Design: Provide strategic leadership in creative technology and design for XTG and its partners, primarily supporting the Dubai office. Business Development & Partnerships: Collaborate with the XTG Business Development Team and Director of Strategic Partnerships to build and maintain relationships within the global experiential design community. Client Engagement & Visioning: Translate client requirements into creative presentations, functional system designs, and communicate design intent through various visual and narrative methods. Technical Design & Documentation: Contribute to engineering and architectural documentation, including RCPs, floor plans, system descriptions, block diagrams, and design calculations. Project Support & Coordination: Assist in pre-construction design reviews, technical pricing, logistics planning, and provide ongoing engineering support throughout project installations. Quality Assurance & Consultation: Review the work of Design Engineers, offer post-sales consultation, and act as a liaison for client engineering inquiries. Technology Evaluation: Meet with vendors to assess new products and identify emerging creative technologies for integration into projects. Travel & Global Support: Travel to job sites as needed and participate in meetings across international time zones, up to 20 times per year, with flexibility to take on additional tasks as required. What we’re looking for Strong Communication & Professionalism: Excellent customer-facing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, colleagues, and internal teams. Creative & Independent Problem-Solving: Proven ability to work creatively and independently, with a solutions-oriented mindset and strong time management to meet deadlines. Technical Expertise in AV Solutions: 10+ years of experience designing and implementing experiential AV systems, with advanced skills in AV design, configuration, system diagnostics, and support for user acceptance testing. Relevant Industry Background: Experience working with consultancies, creative agencies, production houses, or fabricators in the AV or experiential design industry. Travel & Availability Requirements: Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally; must be available for meetings in Gulf Standard Time (GST) and occasional in-person meetings in Dubai. Educational & Certification Preferences: High school diploma required; formal education in Electronics or a related field preferred. AVIXA CTS-D certification and military or 4-year degree experience may be considered. Software Proficiency: Advanced computer skills necessary for AV design and operation; experience with Google SketchUp Pro or similar design tools is a plus.
